DEAR FRIEND,
SELF
Writing to you about self on the first letter, sound somehow right? Because why should I talk to you about self when I don't know you? I know this isn't right, but permit me to talk to you about it.
Most times we use others to judge and to build ourselves from when we are kids till this moment. We say things like when I grow up, I want to be like my dad, like my mum, like uncle Wale, like aunty Chinaza because we love what they do. At that time of saying it, we dont know what we love, what we want and so your decisions begin to change when we grow up.
Then when we get to the teens zone, peer pressure begins to decide who we are, what we do and we start the process of reforming ourselves by adding some things that we seem right and subtracting those we see wrong.
Let me tell you this dear friend; don't be afraid because you haven't known who you are. Its a gradual process. Learn to observe yourself, document them. Not only what you see but what you also love to see in yourself and build on it.
Along the way, you would see some trait from others that you would want to add. Feel free to add them but, dont let it take away your happiness.
Until next time...........
